Technology Overview
The Microvisk technology is based on Micro Electro Mechanical Sensors (MEMS) on a disposable SmartStrip incorporating a small cantilever which pulses in the sample.
The cantilever is made up of several layers of materials:

- Plastic: Different plastics are used to give the cantilevers the stresses required to enable the correct movement when heat is applied
- Heaters: Used to heat the cantilevers and cause the flexing
- Sensors: The output of the sensors is used to detect the changes in cantilever position
The Disposable Strip
The MEMS device is located on the Microvisk SmartStrip to allow for ease of testing. The disposable strip will contain all the necessary components required for a successful test with the Microvisk Prothrombin Test Point of Care Device; this includes:
- Chemistry
- MEMS Technology
- Quality Control Checks
- SmartStrip Batch Information
- Test Chamber
- Blood Delivery System
