Technology Overview
The Microvisk technology is based on Micro Electro Mechanical Sensors (MEMS) on a disposable strip incorporating a small cantilever which pulses in the sample.
The cantilever is made up of several layers of materials:

- Plastic: Different plastics are used to give the cantilevers the stresses required to enable the correct movement when heat is applied
- Heaters: Use to heat the cantilevers and cause the flexing
- Sensors: The output of the sensors is used to detect the changes in cantilever position
The Disposable Strip
The MEMS device is located in a disposable strip to allow for ease of testing. The disposable strip will contain all the necessary components required for a successful test with the Microvisk Prothrombin Test Point of Care Device; this includes:
- Chemistry
- MEMS Technology
- Quality Control
- Batch Information
- Test Chamber
