Julian has an Honours degree in Biochemistry and Chemistry from Bangor University and joined Microvisk in July 2012 with more than 20 years experience in the diagnostic reagent supply and IVD industries. He began his career working in hospital pathology but moved into industry to work for a food manufacturer as a microbiologist and then Quality Manager. His passion for healthcare then lead him to a career as QA and Regulatory Affairs Manager working for a diagnostic reagent manufacturing company supplying pharmaceutical organisations and marketing IVDs. During this time he was directly responsible for implementing certified ISO Quality Management Systems, Laboratory UKAS accreditation and device regulatory compliance. Lured back to North Wales in 2005, prior to joining Microvisk, Julian worked as a Quality Manager for Siemens Healthcare Diagnostics managing multiple teams including QC laboratory support, stability testing, patient sample supply and microbiology bringing a broad range of skills and experience to the Microvisk team. Julian lives in North Wales with wife Janet, two dogs and occasionally, when they visit, his two “grown up” sons. Downtime is spent walking in the beautiful North Wales countryside taking in the amazing scenery and diverse wildlife.
